Pelatihan Mengelola Referensi dengan Mendeley untuk Penulisan Karya Ilmiah Mahasiswa UIN Suska Riau

Abstract

The community service program of Managing References with Mendeley for Scientific Writing by UIN Suska Riau Students, aims to improve the ability to manage references in students' scientific writing. Frequently encountered problems are citation errors and bibliography errors, which result in high levels of similarity in written works. This community service activity can help improve the understanding and skills of UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau students in managing references using the Mendeley application. The training method included material delivery, demonstrations of Mendeley usage, and hands-on practice in managing citations and bibliographies in scientific documents. The training participants were 25 students in the Public Administration study program who were or were about to write their theses. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of the importance of academic ethics and their ability to use Mendeley effectively. Students became more able to write citations and bibliographies systematically and consistently. This activity is expected to contribute to improving the quality of students' scientific work and reducing the level of similarity in manuscripts in accordance with academic standards.
