Bimbingan Pengelolaan Keuangan Keluarga bagi Calon Pengantin Pranikah di Kota Pekanbaru

Abstract

The high divorce rate in Indonesia, dominated by economic conflict, indicates the low financial preparedness of pre-marital couples in managing family finances. This condition also occurs in Pekanbaru City, which faces rising living costs, a consumer culture, and low financial literacy among young families. This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and financial preparedness of prospective pre-marital couples through education on Sharia-based family financial management. The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Marriage Guidance (BIMWIN) of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Pekanbaru City and the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), targeting prospective premarital couples from 15 sub-districts in Pekanbaru City. The implementation method used the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach through interactive lectures, discussions and questions and answers, family budgeting simulations, and simple mentoring related to family financial management. The material provided included family financial planning, income and expenditure management, debt management, savings, and the application of Sharia financial values in the household. Evaluation was carried out through a post-test and an open questionnaire to determine the increase in participants' understanding after the activity. The results of the activity showed that the majority of participants understood the importance of family financial management in building a harmonious, loving, and compassionate family and were able to prioritize family finances in a more focused manner. Participants also expressed enthusiasm and hoped for the program's continued regular participation for prospective brides and grooms in Pekanbaru City. This activity contributes to improving Sharia-compliant family financial literacy as a preventative measure to minimize economic conflict within the household.
