Waste management remains a major environmental problem that has not been adequately resolved and continues to affect environmental quality and public health. Waste generated from daily activities, including in the school environment, may cause pollution and serve as a vector for disease transmission if it is not properly managed. Waste management is a shared responsibility that should be instilled from an early age; however, elementary school students commonly possess limited knowledge of waste types and proper waste-handling practices. This community service activity was conducted at SDN 013 Kumantan, involving fourth- and fifth-grade students, and aimed to improve students’ understanding of organic and inorganic waste, appropriate waste management practices, and the negative impacts of waste on health and the environment. The activity was carried out during school hours through an educational session combining an interactive PowerPoint presentation with an educational waste-sorting game. The results indicate that, following the intervention, students were able to identify different types of waste, understand proper waste management practices, and demonstrate increased awareness of and concern for environmental cleanliness within the school.
