Pelatihan Pemanfaatan Limbah Kertas Bagi Masyarakat Kota Pekanbaru

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide training in making crafts from used paper as the main material so that it can increase environmental awareness while creating economic opportunities through paper waste management. This activity is designed to introduce various techniques for processing used paper into value-added products, such as handicrafts, decorations, and functional goods. The community service activity method is carried out using the caramah method, question and answer, practice and assistance in making recycled products. The activity was carried out for the people of Pekanbaru City. The community service participants were very enthusiastic about participating in this activity so that this community service activity ran smoothly. This training provided several materials related to efforts to increase the knowledge of community service participants in terms of utilizing paper waste into useful products. Participants welcomed this activity positively and the materials presented could be understood by the participants and the activity took place smoothly, on time and as expected. The results of this training showed an increase in participants' knowledge about paper waste management, as well as higher motivation to be involved in waste reduction efforts. With this training, it is hoped that a more environmentally conscious community will be created and be able to utilize paper waste as a source of additional income, thereby contributing to environmental sustainability and the local economy.
